Group of Associates in USA to sell the U.S. Passenger Ship: S/S
UNITED STATES.
Mr. Brian R. McCaughrin, Founder, President & Owner of McCaughrin
Maritime USA, was both honored and sadden by this latest project,
of selling of the S/S UNITED STATES for demolition (scrap) as
the U.S. Built Passenger ship, Built at Newport News Shipbuilding
& Dry Dock Company, Newport News, Virginia. Pride of the American
Seamen and Union of U.S.A.
The S/S UNITED STATES which was built in 1952, and is 990 feet
long and 101 feet wide, and has twelfth (12) deck has sat over
thirty three (33) years idle at numerous U.S. East Coast Ports
since being taken out of service in 1969. This vessel was towed
to Turkey by another U.S. Owners in the mid 80's and decide to
have the entire ship gutted stripped of cancerous insulation material
called asbestos, and then towed S/S UNITED STATES back to another
U.S. East Coast Port in the early 90's.
Sad part is, that current U.S. Owners have decide that the S/S
UNITED STATES is worth far more for scrap then spending countless
($$$) million rebuilding passenger ship. Inspection, show, that
its just an big empty shell, inside and the only thing thing that
remain is the engine room section. Nothing else is there. Pilothouse
was even gutted and now is just an empty room. The bright side
of all of this, is the S/S UNITED STATES, has high gauge of Aluminum
and Steel on board and should fetch allot of money.
Indication are that the S/S UNITED STATES will fetch in the neighborhood
of $180-to $210.00 per ltd. The cost of towing however will be
in the range of $1.8 - $2.5M and take about six (6) to eight month
(8) months.

put DHL World-Wide Express Courier On Notice This Day.
Mr. Brian R. McCaughrin, Founder, President & Owner of McCaughrin
Maritime USA, which is serving in over Ninety (90) Global Countries
to date, has been very disappointed at DHL World Wide Courier
Service for both International and Domestic Courier Service.
Mr. McCaughrin, said that in past two (2) months, three (3) critical
documents, that needed be shipped by DHL somewhere, both globally
and domestically, failed to be picked up at the assigned time,
with a guaranteed confirmation number attached to pick-up and
still failed to be picked up and was missed.
Had it not been for expertise employees at McCaughrin Maritime
USA in re-calling DHL in Phoenix, Arizona, to find out what was
happening, and to find a courier that late in the evening, has
to be re-schedule for the next morning, causing hectic schedules
of cargo and investment to missed there Port of Call.
This lack of concern by DHL Officials, "Can Not Be Tolerated"
in this ever demanding cargo business, where needs, and demand
are always changing at a drop of a hat!
Mr. McCaughrin, has brought this to "ATTENTION" of Many
Officials at DHL at World Headquarters in Phoenix, Arizona and
nothing seems to be fixed, their, by those who say it being looked
into, there is no follow up, no phone calls, only to happen over
and over again.
DHL feels that free bill, and a twenty ($20.00) dollar gift certificate,
will fix the problem, and go away, when you are dealing with million
dollars contract, and the clients you are serving, doesn't want
to hear excuses, and DHL, always said we are sorry.
As Mr. McCaughrin, would say somebody, at DHL need to be fired,
either at Michigan location, or DHL Arizona Headquarters, or both
location, so that this will never happen again!

Mr. Alymer Gribble of Gibson and Mr. Brian R. McCaughrin, Founder,
President & Owner, of McCaughrin Maritime USA, said that allot
of interest has been very positive toward the vessels in question,
and that inspections have taken place from ship breakers parties
from Turkey, India, China, Bangladesh, and Pakistan, but that
to date, nothing has been serious enough to celebrate about.
Mr. McCaughrin, has brought many ship breaking group together
to inspect these ships, but that the underlying problem exist,
are that towing cost to date outstrip any gains from the purchase
and then towing of these vessels that weight anywhere from #7,500
to #9,000 tons
Mr. McCaughrin's, Ship breaking Group, which at last count was
over twelfth (12) has refuse to make any purchase, until either
the dollar amount is lower or, that Canadian Ship Owners pay for
the towing at the current price they have set.
Mr. McCaughrin, talks are now circling around UK, and Spain, for
the additional financing for the Six (6) ships in question. Mr.
McCaughrin, is eying Country of India, to sell the ship's to,
since India has vast network, of ship breakers, and long history
of scraping ships from around the world.
The last trio of ships from the Great Lakes that headed for India
were: S/S Canadian Hunter, and MV. Simcoe. There Specification,
225.50m x 22.86m x 12.09m.
Mr. McCaughrin, said another problem facing this project is the
logistics moving a ship the size, of two (2) football fields long
and moving two (2) ships each time, across the shortest distance
to India, but also pick a route that will be the safest for weather
because depending which vessel goes first, and four (4) of the
six (6) are 225m long x 23.00m wide x 12.10m deep, and has estimated
that would cost $1.2 to $1.5M, and that quote was last month,
now with Middle East "heating up", and International
fuel price increasing, that could change this whole ball game
in seconds, Mr. McCaughrin stated, in driving the selling price
per ltd downward, so that breakers can still make the purchase
and then pay for the towing. I have FAITH, the Lord will make

Officials of McCaughrin Maritime Marine Systems. Inc. (MMMSI)
of Wayne, Michigan, U.S.A Announced today that, demolition vessel
pricing is heating up, despite the 10% surcharge that International
ship breakers are being assess at, for any steel that enter those
countries that scrap ship, and this is partly due to last month
speech by President George Bush, over steel imports killing the
U.S. Steel Industries.
Mr. Brian R. McCaughrin, Founder, President & Owner of McCaughrin
Maritime Marine Systems., Inc. (MMMSI) has indicated the 10% surcharge
that was suppose to hurt these countries, such as India, Pakistan,
Bangladesh and China in lower prices on ship (s) in this industries,
has instead breakers has found a way around the surcharge law,
because ship breaking price are rising much faster then earlier
advised in the second quarter from what I can see.
I had indicated on March 26, 2002, that International breakers
were willing to secure higher price in the range of $145.00 for
6 Lakers that are slated for sale for demolition, pending the
current Canadian Shipowners pay for the towing of the lakers to
demolition yard. So far, Owners have decide against that plan
and the price per ltd has been driven down to $45.00 per ltd.
Mr. McCaughrin, who this week bid on General Cargo Vessel MV.
Eco Ekram, Built in 1974 is #4,715 light tons, that is up for
sale for demolition in Bandar Abbas, Iran threw in submitted price
of $141.00 per ltd, In less of 1 week that price has zoomed to
$151.00 per ltd.
Now Mr. McCaughrin is bidding on much larger tonnage's, Pamax
Vessel, MV. Nand Shivchiand, 223 x 32.25 x 13.606, #15,969.12
ltd, as per firms and stability books. MV. Nand Shivchiand, was
built in 1983 at CNR Italy.
The vessel raised anchor on April 9, Singapore, and is now sailing
toward Alang, India anchorage, which Mr. McCaughrin been working
on for over week, has secured a bidding price of $142.00 per ltd.
Shipowners set the price, based on equipment on board the ship,
and the fact they can sail on there own to breakers facilities,
make the price attractive to match.

built, Salvage tug "CAPE POINT" that was built in 1986.
Mr. McCaughrin has been in direct talks for six (6) weeks preparing
a schedules marine surveyor with Miamar Shipping of Dar Es Sallem,
Tanzania who has secured surveyor in Cape Town, South Africa to
inspect the "CAPE POINT" which is: 266 x 53 x 26.
The "CAPE POINT" which is, twin screw and twin diesel
engine, produce #7,200 h.p., and has a bollard pull of 80 tons.
The tug has a speed of 15 knots. The "CAPE POINT" has
been laid up and out of service since 1995 in Cape Town, South
Africa.
